Richard is a reformed interior designer with a passion for bees. His transition to full time beekeeper came about from a down turn in the building industry while he and his wife juggled careers and raising a young family.  It made sense to give up commuting, raise his own kids and do a job that was also beneficial to the wider community. 

 

Richard will talk about the highs and lows of bee keeping; while you get a pot of gold of the sticky variety, as with all farming ventures your harvest is weather dependent and disease can wipe out your stock.
